Shy Butterfly

How attractive you are
Yet you shy away
From the luxury cosmetic
On this sweet September day.
Don’t you realize how beautiful you are?
Nothing less, then the true brightness
Of the most wished upon star.
Your wings of rainbow smile?
Withdrawn, you are timid yet
You seem fearless when you travel
Many a mile.
Utterly you are endearing
With your sight of summer, nothing less
Then a distant memory
Yet when you look in the mirror
Is that what you still see?
Time may have faded, but your colors
They have not
Still bright and wonderful!
Need not to dementia and forgot.
You still flicker a speed, that only splendor
Can marry
Hold onto that gift, for you may have lost energy
But still have the youth, of a fresh sweet berry.
Prettiness, in lovely meditation
You have never been more alive!
Flying with so many inadequaties but so perfect
Do you flutter, to strive.
So withdraw not, sweet butterfly, embrace your sweet face
For you are worldly in good looking looks
With the management of simple, polite grace
